Internet Outage!

I have felt so out of the loop all day because my Internet has been down since LAST NIGHT! It just now came back on. What the heck?! Way to be on top of things, Charter. The cable was out too, so today has been a very quite, boring day around the house. On top of that it was rainy and gray outside all day, so needless to say, it has just been "one of those days".

I really wanted to get an outdoor run in today, but with the rain and cold I just wasn't feelin' it too much. I couldn't go to the gym and run on the treadmill either, because my sister has my card to get into the gym. So I just decided that a nice rest and stretch for my muscles would do me some good, so I did an hour of yoga instead. It was very relaxing and helped me de-stress from the week.

Operation "get-out-of-the-food-rut" led me to a new breakfast. I don't know though, I was really hoping that eating cottage cheese everyday would keep me kicking all the way up past the 100s. :)

breakfast

  • Blueberry Waffles
  • 1/2 Banana
  • Strawberry Preserves
  • Blueberries
  • Maple Syrup

Keeping with the "get-out-of-the-food-rut" theme, I fixed up a mixture of things that did not include a sandwich OR a wrap. I get so indecisive when it comes to my meals that I always end up just putting a little bit of random things together to make a meal. Why can I NEVER make up my mind?! haha.

Here is lunch:

004

HUGE SALAD!

  • Spinach leaves
  • Romaine Lettuce
  • Cucumbers
  • Green Pepper
  • Tomatoes
  • Broccoli
  • Cauliflower
  • Celery
  • Light Italian Dressing
005

  • Mushroom Burger
  • Cheddar Quacker Oats Mini Rice Cakes

I may or may not have had a couple of pieces of Easter candy from my basket after that as well. ;)

After that I got ready and went to work. Work went well, we spent the whole night rearranging the store to look pretty with all the new spring clothes we got it. I was doing some hard physical labor in there! Climbing ladders, hammering in shelves, putting together wall displays. I felt pretty bad ass. But, now I am exhausted! Time to catch up on blogs, make some dinner, and call it a night.

Goodnight! Lots of Love, <3 Ems.

Dinner and a Movie Night!

So I wake up this morning to a text from the bestie saying "dinner date tonight?"...um of course! I have not seen her in about a week and we have a TON of catching up to do over dinner. I got even more excited when I realized that it was Wednesday and my all time favorite SUSHI restaurant has HALF-OFF of all their sushi rolls :) talk about the ultimate BEST night for a dinner date. My friend doesnt really like sushi too much (im trying to get her into it), so I asked her if it was ok to eat there but that we didnt have to, but she said it was fine! YAY! Then we decided that we might as well make a night of it and go to a movie afterward as well. I have been in the mood for a scary movie, so we decided that we are gonna go see The Unborn.

Purrrrrtty scarrrry! haha.

You guys will be so happy to see a break in the flat out wraps streak. I was in the mood for a just plain-o sammie today. I have been craving mushrooms for the past couple o' days so I picked some up yesterday and just HAD to use them in my sandwich for lunch today. Here she is with some Kashi crackers on the side:

wed nes day 005

roasted red pepper hummus, spinach, mushroom, and salsa sandwich on whole wheat bread...grilled on the Fore-Man!

wed nes day 003

BURSTING with mushrooms! :)

And then I may have snuck in a couple of these thing-ys for d-cert.

wed nes day 006
and maybe a few more ;)

I just wanna say thanks again for everyone who was thinking about me and gave me such awesome support for my interview yesterday. Your kind words and thoughts meant soooo much more than I could ever say. It really was a big accomplishment for me to even go. I had to wake up at 330 in the morning to drive the 3 and half hours to get there for the interview. There were so many times where I thought "im just not going to go, there are too many things working against me, it wont be worth it." But, I bit the bullet and I went for it! I knew I wanted to and I WAS NOT going to let negative thoughts get in my way. In a way it kind of reminded me of overcoming the negative feelings and thoughts associated with ED. There was that little voice in the back of my head that told me I couldnt do it, just like with ED telling me I needed to control my body by restricting and exercising, that I was weak if I didnt. But I turned around and looked that little voice right SMACK in the face and I said "I am strong and I can do this", I shook it off and I DID IT! and I was so proud of myself for accomplishing that, whether I get the job or not :)

Ok, time to get ready for "date night"...im GONNA take pictures of the food, im not going to be embarrassed! haha...because you just have to see how AMAZING this place is!

oh yeah, and you bet your Valentines Day Lovin' booty i WILL be particpating in Lee's "Secret Cupid" extravaganza and you probably should too :)

I might try something new tonight...What is your favorite sushi roll?

Shopping Recap!

"Heroes take journeys, confront dragons, and discover the treasure of their true self"

- Carol Lynn Pearson

The greatest treasure of my journey, you ask?! Well...it just so happens to be this little ol' t-shirt:

david bowie 002

I swear, we were in Urban Outfitters about an hour, I was ready to check out, and then just decided to go browse through the guys t-shirts while waiting for the line to die down. Now, if you know anything about Urban, you know that their t-shirts are usually about 30-40$. I immediately lay my eyes on this AMAZING t-shirt AND its on sale for $10!!!! I have had a strange love for David Bowie ever since I watched the Labyrinth when I was 10 years old. Everyone makes fun of me for it, I embrace it...which is why this shirt is perfect! haha. Dont worry, I dont think ill wear it out in public...strictly a VERY cute sleep shirt! haha.

Anyway, shopping was so much fun...we shopped from 11 until 8 that night!!! I told you we are professionals! After we finished our marathon shopping, we stopped in to eat at Cheesecake Factory before we headed home. I have never eaten here so I was excited! I really liked the atmosphere! It was such a cool place! And all of the food was soooo HUGE! I ordered the weight management grilled chicken and there is just NO WAY that that thing is less than 600 calories! Do you think its possible?! Im always skeptical of the restaurants that list their calorie counts, sometimes it just seems a little unbelievable. What is your opinion on this?!

And of course seeing as we were at the Cheesecake factory and we had been walking ALLL day, we just had to order a slice of cheesecake. My room mate and I split this:

Chocolate Mousse Cheesecake...it was delicious!

We made it home at about midnight (and we had left at 8 that morning!). So when we got home, I put on my David Bowie t-shirt and crashed!! All in all it was a great day!!

In other news.....

ITS FRIDAY!!!! TGIF EVERYONE!
